My name is Ellen Bryan and I am a broadcast journalist here in Washington, D.C. I am interested in attending one of your meetings as your guest speaker. Here's a little bit about me: - I am a morning TV personality on WUSA 9 in Washington, D.C. - As Miss Ohio 2011, I competed at Miss America before starting my journalism career. - My oldest sister was struck by lightning in 2000, paralyzing her for the past 18 years. I have shared her story across the country as a national spokesperson for NOAA. - I produce an online series called "Minute Motivation" providing daily motivational videos online to encourage people to chase their dreams and let go of fear and anxiety. Below my signature is the speech topic / outline that I would love to give at your meeting. Videos, an expanded bio and more can be found on my website: www.ellenbryan.com. Thank you for your consideration! Ellen Bryan The power of one minute... and its ripple affect. In one minute on a golf course in Ohio, a lightning strike radically changed my sister's life. (Gratitude) In one minute on the Miss America stage, I felt an overwhelming gut instinct that couldn't be ignored. (Creating Your Own Path) In one minute of TV broadcasting, I learned to focus on the big picture, not the emotions of the moment. (Perspective) In a one minute video, you can change the course of someone's day and life. (Giving Back) Our lives are a series of one minutes sewn together. What you do with those minutes matters. Your perspective of those minutes matters. I'm here to encourage and teach you how to get the most out of life's minutes.
