Guest Speaker Leah Foxx will present "Socially Responsive Investing" at the Rotary Club Meeting on March 25, 2021

Leah Foxx is a Social Research Analyst for the Socially Responsive Investing Department at 1919 Investment Counsel, LLC in the firm’s Cincinnati, OH office. She has been a member of the firm’s SRI Department since she entered the financial services industry in 2015. Her primary responsibilities include evaluating companies in the Healthcare, Financial Services, and Real Estate sectors, and analyzing relevant social, environmental, and responsible finance topics. Leah publishes comments on company reviews and also writes for the firm’s Social Research Reporter. She regularly participates in events and meetings related to corporate engagement through memberships in the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI), and the Investors for Opioid Accountability (IOA). Leah is also a member of the SRI Committee at 1919 Investment Counsel.  Leah earned her H.B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and the Public at Xavier University. She achieved the French professional certificate of conducting business affairs in French, certified by the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the Paris/Île-de-France region, in 2015.  In her free time, Leah is a member of the Bellarmine Chapel Parish Worship Core Committee and is a regular volunteer with the University of Cincinnati Economics Center Student Enterprise Program (StEP) for elementary students. Leah also greatly enjoys traveling, attending local theater and symphony performances, and reading.

For Valentine's Day 73 Homeless Women Received Pashmina Scarves from the Potomac-Bethesda Rotary Club

Potomac-Bethesda Rotary Club Donated $1400 to the Manna Food Center
Courtney Hall, CEO, Interfaith Works was our Guest Speaker at the Rotary Club Meeting on January 21, 2021
Courtney Hall joined Interfaith Works as Chief Executive Officer in November 2020 following 17 years of service in the public and nonprofit sectors. Most recently he has been the Vice President at Housing Up in Washington DC, where he led the provision of affordable housing and supportive services to more than 700 homeless individuals and at-risk households.  Prior to his Housing Up experience, Courtney served as a Child Welfare leader in DC and Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Social Work from Oakwood University in Alabama, a Master of Social Work from The University of Alabama, and holds a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University.
2020 Donations from the Potomac-Bethesda Rotary Club
Fellow PB Rotarians:  Once again our Club has been very generous and has donated $200 to Rotary International for each active member.  You should be receiving a recognition of your gifts, $100 to the RI General Fund and $100 to the RI Polio Plus Fund.  This year our Club has donated to some very worthy causes: Manna Food Center for $3,400, Nourish Now $500, Believe in Belize (Thank you Nabil!) $1,840, Rotary International General Fund $1,500, Rotary International Polio Plus $1,500, and four beautiful teak benches to various police and fire stations $5,205.  Thank you all! Best, Phil
