  "friends" of our Club members\, including past members of our Club\, for 
 whom we RSVP will result in our Club being charged $40 @.   So if you RS
 VP and don't attend\, we will ask you to contribute $16 ($40 minus $24) to
  offset the loss our Club will incur due to nonattendance by people who RS
 VP but do not show up for the event.
